Clash in the Can

Context

As part of the Presentation Evening activities, the club launched "Clash in the Can" in collaboration with King Road Brewing: limited edition craft beer to raise funds. They needed a system to handle beer sales, club donations, and sponsor acquisition, all with separate Stripe accounts for each recipient.

Solution

I developed a multi-purpose system that processes three types of transactions: beer sales (goes to the brewery's account), donations (goes to the club's account), and sponsor leads. Each flow has its own business logic and validations.

Features

  • Case sales with limit per Presentation Evening ticket
  • Cross-validation: only event ticket holders can purchase
  • Age verification (18+)
  • PDF receipt with QR for pickup
  • Pickup location selection
  • Pickup scanner in admin panel
  • Restricted access role for the brewery
  • Donations with flexible amounts and anonymous option
  • Sponsor form with tier selection and automatic PDF pack delivery
  • Stock management with sold-out indicator

Technical Challenges

The main challenge was handling two different Stripe accounts: beer payments go to King Road Brewing's account, while donations go to the club's account. I implemented an architecture that routes each transaction to the correct merchant based on product type.

Tech Stack

.NET 9Next.js 15PostgreSQLStripe (two accounts)DockerAWS EC2

Result

System in production processing real payments for multiple merchants. Donations and beer sales managed successfully.
